Music on the Green

Band Photo
The Ghosts of Erin started as a pure Irish Traditional band. The Ghosts
have many decades of dedicated study of the music and dance of an older
Ireland. Still, there was always more to it: A love of Old English, Scottish and American murder ballads, an interest and experience in other Celtic and Nordic forms of music and dance - and a love of the mystique that comes with antiquity and the 'Back of Beyond'
- of Holy wells, White Thorns, Oaks and the places of the Good Folk.

You will find all of this in our music. The Light and the Dark. The magic of Uilleann and Scottish pipes, flute, fiddle, drum and voice -and the dance of old dusty crossroads and the royal hall.

The Ghosts of Erin are: Heather Roberts - vocals and dance, Chad Roberts
- guitar and percussion, Dr. Eric Hahn - uilleann pipes, scottish pipes and flute, Jerry Jacuzio - fiddle, guitar and nyckelharpa. Check them out at http://www.ghostsoferin.com/ .
Cherie Lassiter - Local musician and songtress will cast a spell on you through music and voice. Cherie's music, a blend of Celtic, Folk, and New Age, has been delighting the people of Raleigh since she was just 16. So come spend some time with Cherie and her music and truly be enchanted. For more information about Cherie Lassiter and how to get your own copy of her debut CD "Heart Shadows", check out Cherie at http://www.myspace.com/cherielassiter .

Hannah Ruth - Hannah Ruth has been singing and song writing since she was a child. She started out in churches, performing on special occasions (Christmas, Easter, etc.) with her father, Micah Christian. She was always involved in music, and the performing arts during her school years. She was blessed with her first guitar on Christmas day, 2001, and has been strumming away ever since. Now, she is only beginning to dip her feet in this new river of talent that is the Raleigh local music scene. Check her out at http://www.myspace.com/hannahruthmusic/ .

The Easy Street Jug Conspiracy - Making their return performance here at CNCPPD, The Easy Street Jug Conspiracy is a four woman acoustic band featuring guitar, fiddle, washboard, kazoo and of course, jug. The band has been conspiring together for more than a month with an extensive repertoire of over 5 songs. They play a variety of styles including works from traditional jug oeuvre, bluegrass, and old time string band music, with some 70's and 80's classics thrown in to make sure that you're paying attention. So stomp your feet, join in the chorus and enjoy!  Jug On!

War on the Green

European Medieval Arts of Arms - For everyone who enjoys the history of the sword. For everyone who enjoys the Martial Arts. For everyone who loves the sound of steel on steel. They, who have thrilled us year after year, risking injury and sore muscles to give you a taste of days gone by. Come and enjoy. Come and learn. Come and cheer on the fighters as they pay homage to and show their admiration for the warriors of ancient days who fought with courage, skill, and a good piece of steel. You'll find them just inside the entrance. Just follow the sound of steel on steel. To find more about EMAA, go to their website at http://www.emaaknights.com/

Dancing on the Green

Eraina Neith - A student of the incomparable Sara Beaman, of Blue Moon Belly Dance and The Devoted Belly Dance Collective, Eraina studies ATS and Tribal Fusion styles of dance. A passion found rather late in life, but one that's led her on a path of joy and discovery.

Eraina's philosophy is "While I dance, I cannot judge, I cannot hate, I cannot seperate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. This is why I dance." ~Hans Bos~
